Nate Ruess (born February 26, 1982) is an American singer and songwriter. He is the lead singer of the indie pop band fun., and previously of The Format. As of 2015, he also performs as a solo musician.

Work with P!nk[]

In 2012, he collaborated with P!nk on "Just Give Me a Reason," the third single from her sixth studio album, The Truth About Love. The song went on to peak at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100.

P!nk spoke about the collaboration on VH1 Storytellers and referred to Nate as "an angel" and spoke of how much she enjoyed his voice (making reference to the band's smash hit "We Are Young"; P!nk went on to sing one of the lines from the song). After talking about how they wrote the song and P!nk planned to "trick" Nate into singing it with her, she invited him up on stage to perform the song with her for the very first time live.

A pre-recorded video of Ruess singing his part of "Just Give Me a Reason" was featured on P!nk's The Truth About Love Tour. At the 2014 Grammy Awards, the duo performed the song live.
