"Walk of Shame" is the tenth track from P!nk's sixth studio album, The Truth About Love. It is the shortest song on the album, as it lasts exactly two minutes and forty-two seconds. It was written by P!nk and Greg Kurstin and produced by Kurstin. In an interview with Gaydar Radio, P!nk said that "Walk of Shame" was one of her favorite tracks from the album, although she went on to say that it would never be a video despite wanting to see a video for it; therefore, this would imply that she had no plans to release it as a single either. [1] Despite this, P!nk ended up releasing the song as a single in Australia in order to promote her Truth About Love Tour DVD, The Truth About Love Tour: Live from Melbourne. "Walk of Shame" was released on September 25, 2013. [2]
Background[]
"Walk of Shame" was written by P!nk and Greg Kurstin. She told Spotify that it was inspired by her husband, Carey, calling her and telling her about all of the walks of shame that he has seen in Vegas, where his business is; P!nk said there was "nothing really that deep" about the song. [3]
Live performances[]
P!nk added it to the setlist of her The Truth About Love Tour. It was the first song from The Truth About Love in the setlist, as it was preceded by "Raise Your Glass" (from Greatest Hits... So Far!!!).
Music video[]
Despite P!nk previously stating there would not be a music video for the song (and therefore no single release either), she changed her mind and released the song as the album's fifth single in order to promote her upcoming tour DVD. The song's music video was released exclusively to P!nk's Australian Vevo channel. The video features the live version of the song and features clips from the tour film, which disappointed many fans, who thought she could have been more creative and done more with the video to relate to the song.
